Overview

We are here to help the University of Michigan community navigate the increasingly complex world of scholarly publishing. As part of the University of Michigan Library, we are available for publishing consultations with all U-M affiliates, including faculty, students, staff, and administrators. Our cost recovery-based services are designed to assist from manuscript to final publication, including robust digital distribution and preservation systems.

We provide the following services:

  • Books: Streamlined monograph publishing options designed to make high-quality scholarship from the U-M community available in print, ebook, and open access, from one book to an entire branded publishing imprint.
  • Journals: Affordable, efficient, integrated, born-digital publishing solutions for important open access journals in niche areas.
  • Course Materials: Services, including print on demand options, that help U-M instructors create Open Educational Resources and enhance pedagogical impact.
  • Publisher Support: Through our Fulcrum platform, we offer services to other small mission-driven scholarly publishers looking for an alternative to working with large commercially-oriented organizations.
