Description

Celebrating the design/build movement in Vermont, this book examines the work of a group of talented and experimental architects who converged in Vermont's Mad River Valley during the mid-1960s and 1970s to pursue new ideas and find creative freedom. Essays, archival photographs and drawings, architectural photographs, and other documentary materials reveal to readers how and why some of Vermont's most celebrated structures, some of which still stand today, were built when and where they were.

Janie Cohen is an art historian and director of the Robert Hull Fleming Museum at the University of Vermont.
