After years of studying and teaching elsewhere, Charles Fish returned to his native state in search of a full Vermont life as a writer, teacher, and engaged member of the community. The return to Vermont quickly became a commitment to a social and political life, but with devotion tempered by years of theoretical studies as an English professor. Over the years, Fish has served on the school board, the select board, and as town moderator in Dummerston, Vermont, where he lives with his wife Eleanor.
