Kenneth M. Alfano is a Teaching Professor in Engineering Undergraduate Education and Technical Communication at the University of Michigan. For many years, he has been lead instructor for an interdisciplinary version of “Engineering 100” – the introductory engineering course. Professor Alfano is a licensed Professional Engineer with degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. His engineering experience broadly relates to design of electromechanical systems for biochemical analysis, spanning academic and entrepreneurial contexts. He is an inventor on several patents and an author on several peer-reviewed articles. He also holds degrees in economics and law, and has published on intellectual property topics.
