Groves Monographs on Marriage and Familyis an edited book series based on the annual meetings of the Groves Conference on Marriage and Family, an interdisciplinary, interprofessional organization of limited invited membership founded in 1934. The Groves Monographs publishes work on the leading edges of theory development and empirical research in the field of family studies. Individual volumes are edited by the chairs of the annual Groves Conferences and include peer-reviewed chapters by the conference presenters and invited authors. Topics are timely and provocative with diverse themes. 

Volume 9: Families as Sources of Strength Healing and Hope This monograph elaborates on the theme of the 2022 Groves Conference on Marriage and Family held in Paradise Island, Bahamas--- Families as Sources of Strength, Hope and Healing. The authors offer insights into and the value of employing a strengths-based mindset, whether engaging in clinical work or teaching. They also identify numerous factors which empower children, couples, and families, including things like expressing love, commitment, and relational fidelity. This volume is intended to help researchers, practitioners, and the lay public to adopt a more strengths-based and hopeful approach to relationships.

Raeann R. Hamon is Distinguished Professor of Family Science and Gerontology at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where she also served as Department Chair for 31 years. An NCFR Fellow, her research and writing focus on family theories, the discipline of family science, family science pedagogy, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, filial responsibility, and intergenerational relationships. 

Chloe D. Merrill is a Professor Emeriti at Weber State University where she served as Associate Dean in the Moyes College of Education and Department Chair. She is certified in Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS), a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), as well as certified to teach Secondary and Early Childhood Education. Chloe owns Transformational Symmetry Consulting, LLC, which is a consulting firm that looks at personal and corporate effectiveness.
