Michigan Publishing Services will be exhibiting at Kerrytown BookFest for the first time this year on Sunday, September 11, 2016, 10:30am-5pm at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market alongside a diverse group of local booksellers and publishers.
Michigan Publishing Services publishes scholarly print and digital monographs, edited volumes, anthologies, and journals authored and edited by University of Michigan faculty, staff, and students, including institutional histories, conference volumes, and faculty reprints, as well as course materials, innovative digital projects, and experiments in “Publishing as Pedagogy” at U-M.
We’re most excited for people to see the inaugural issue of the Michigan Journal of Medicine, published in collaboration with the U-M Medical School as a successful “Publishing as Pedagogy” case study. We have a great selection of new print titles from our Maize Books imprint, an impressive array of scholarly journals, and print literary arts projects produced by creative U-M students.
The theme for this year’s Kerrytown BookFest is “Travels with Books,” and the all-day event will feature various speakers, storytimes for kids, and a welcoming representation of local bookstore, author, printer, and publisher exhibitors, including Literati Bookstore, Wolverine Press, and both Michigan Publishing Services and the University of Michigan Press (two branches of Michigan Publishing).
Ann Arbor is known for its vibrant literary arts culture, so we at Michigan Publishing Services are thrilled to exhibit at Kerrytown BookFest for the first time this year and look forward to showcasing the diverse scholarship, research, and creative publishing projects our faculty, staff, and students at U-M are actively pursuing and passionate about.
Look for Allison Peters, coordinator of the Michigan Journals program and founder of the Michigan Library Publishing Club (Pub Club), at the booth. We can’t wait to see you there!
