Kevin Hawkins and Becky Welzenbach (Head of Digital Publishing Production and TCP Outreach Librarian, respectively, here at MPublishing) have been offering a workshop on “Creating Digital Scholarly Editions Using the TEI.” The course, which covers everything from basic Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) guidelines to discussions about the wide application of digital scholarly editions, has been popular among librarians and humanities scholars here at UM for some time. The team presented the workshop at THATCamp Kansas (September 22nd – 24th) and there are plans in the works to begin a series of related poster presentations.

Want to learn more about TEI? Kevin will be presenting “Best Practices for TEI in Libraries” at the 2011 Annual Conference of the TEI Consortium (Würzburg, Germany, October 10th-16th) and at the 2011 Digital Library Federation Forum (Baltimore, MD, October 31st – November 1st). Join us in Würzburg or Baltimore to learn more.
